What a sex photo scandal!

Today I have broken my silence.

As of this evening, the police have made significant advances towards solving this malicious crime. As from the beginning I will continue to give the police my fullest cooperation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

At this time I am not able to discuss matters related to the case, but I do feel it is my obligation to accept full responsibility and take action to help both the victims and those associated with them to heal their wounds.

In this regard, I plead with everyone to please stop forwarding the images on the internet. Furthermore, to completely rid the images from your computer. This is a small step that each one of us can take to help the innocent rebuild their lives. The priority now is for all of us to pitch in and help those in need.

Despite the fact that Edison chan has made his public speech via video, his genuineness was put into debate by many people.

In view of consecutive quite controversial reaction taken by Edison Chan, quite a lot of people have voiced that he does not really feel sorry at all for the whole scandal. As we all remembered how Edison as the person who took great responsibility of this incident fled from Hong Kong on the second day of this case, it is hardly persuasive he is a responsible person. And his posting a entry titled as "Sniper" in his blog prior to any responses made publicly became a dismay to other victims and the people who have put trust in him. Some opinions stated that this act seemed to be a improper reaction for revenge.

Besides, his video of apology is not well accepted by the public because the video resembles a discreet material for refraining shouldering any legal responsibilities in light of his dressing up in formal wears as well as his choosing of speaking English, instead of a whole-hearted apology. They are likely to be suggested by lawyers in order to taking advantage of making Edison himself as an appearance of normal person instead of celebrity. And one point made by public is that he did not apologize in his speech obviously.

Many factors drive us to be dubious about his genuineness of apology. So what do you think about it?

  1. Everyone can tell that some professionals drafted the speech. It is not what he wants to say. by leaving those photos in a laptop, he is a very irresponsible and careless person. I don’t think he care about other people’s feeling; otherwise he should delete those pictures of Nicholas Tse’s wife, at least.

  2. There are new updates of the circulation of several HK pop stars’ and singers’ nude photos over the internet. Edison Chen has actually taken his laptop computers to various repair shops before. His personal photo files could be stolen by technicians of all these repair shops. However, he has not yet disclosed to the HK Police.

    Feb 9th’s morning news indicates that besides the new photos of Cecilia Cheung in uniform, showing her private part, there are more Gillian’s racy photos, looking directly to the camera. The most astonishing ones are Edison’s girlfriend’s, Vincy Yeung, lusty photos’ of taking a bath.

  3. Is EDC sorry for what he did? No, apparently not, with his retaliated blog posting of a gunman pose, and that pathetic speech he made publicized. Honestly, he can’t undo the damage that’s already been done to the women he slept and took pictures on. It’s a bit wierd to have a fetish of taking pix while you x. That probably explained by his ultra ego “I’m all that” attitude. And that’s fine, as long as you respect other’s privacy as well. I guess it’s alright if it’s a mutual agreement that both sides allow him to keep a collection of themselves. But then it’s about stupidity now.

    To the girls: Why the heck would you do that if you have a public appearance, and that all your career is just based on that image that you established? Why would you do such self destructive thing of letting some guy you slept with to keep your most private pix? Didn’t you think about the consequences when these pix leaked out? You’re responsible for this too, unless you did not agree on letting (or didn’t know that) Edison kept them.

    What else can I say? All people in the pix are responsible for their own actions. For us, we’re just bystanders and you can’t blame us for making “Rumors”. That’s why you’re called the “Entertainers”. Start taking responsibilities now, no one threathen them to take pix with a gun. Get over it!

I don’t think the formally rehearsed speech sounds like a sincere from-the-heart apology at all. personally i thought the whole reason for the video is to “call-upon” the netizens to help him clean up the mess he started. it would be better if he had owned up to whole thing, confessed, give promises that he will keep his little brother (emphasize on the little) in his pants from now on and salvage what’s left of his career. instead he’s giving off vibes that he’s also a victim. i guess u might call him that, because he’s afflicted with carelessness and stupidity.

    The issue here is certainly not about their freedom to do what they want just because they are consenting adults but their responsibility as role models to those kids who worships them. we all know fame comes with obligations. i think all this would have been fine if their public images matches those photos, then people will not make such a big deal over all this but some of these girls have squeaky-clean images . I have nothing against personal fetishes and sexual acts conducted in the privacy of their bedrooms but hypocrisy is something i cant stand.

  35. how can u call them hypocritical? u ppl need to understand that a celebrity image is something they are selling and what makes money, but that doesn’t mean that this image is/represents/should be who they really are.
